O.K. Folks, I hope you weren't expecting to see a gold coin from my.
If it were, I'd still be out in the field cleaning my shorts.
What we have here is a $5.00 Eagle button I dug up at lunch in the pasture. Why $5.00 you ask?
Nick P. and I started a bet just after Easter on who would find the first Eagle button and LC.
We agreed to pay the winner $5.00 for an Eagle button and $10 for an LC.
Well, I'm half way there Baby!!!
I am almost done gridding the pasture. I'm in a very trashy area close to the house now, and digging up pull tabs, chunks of foil, nails, large iron, etc.
Honestly, I almost said "forget it" and about gave up on this last section. I had a good signal, dug a plug, and found an iron spike. Before I covered the hole I scanned it again. BINGO, there was another good signal in a clump of dirt. I saw a large round object, then a shank. Thank God it wasn't just another flat button. I saw part of the Eagle & knew exactly what I had.
There is still about a 30' x 30' section I need to finish up, then I will be on to another area of the plantation property.
This eagle button is very large. It is 29mm with a "City Button Works - New York" backmark.
I'm not sure how old this would be? Any idea?Again, "Yeah Baby!!!!"

Nick- I'm PM you my address. I'll accept $5.00 in large bills or some of Mama's cookies. Either way it's good dough.

Now where are those darn LC's?
