$5.00 silver 1971 IKE

Today i went by my bank, I asked them if they had and halfs.The teller told me no but they had 80.00 worth of IKES. I told her i would take them.There was alot of 76's nothing special. I went to the coin store and told the guy I had 80.00 worth of IKES and would take 85.00 he has a 1971 silver IKE for 10.00. I plunked down the 5.00 diff for the silver IKE.Ill do that all day long.

realistically it isn't uncommon to get 1.25-1.50 per ike on craigslist or even higher on ebay. you could have gotten 110 or more for them.

Yea I know. This dealer I work with buys from me reg. I trade up for silver. I dont have to drive but 6 miles total from house to bank to coin dealer and this makes the 2nd time this bank has had IKES in the last three weeks!He did tell me to save the 77's and 78's anyone know why?

I can't speak to the 78's, but the '77p was the lowest minted CuNi Ike (intended for circulation).

Ive got several buyers for any Eisenhowers I find the problem is I cant find them anymore
