Now THAT is a gorgeous arrowhead. That would be a bragging point in my collection. Just beautiful.

GREAT POINT!! thanks for posting. Is that made of Coshocton or Zaleski?

thx everyone for the comments.samish,i am not totally sure about the material,i would say coshocton, doesnt quite have that jet black shininess of zaleski, but it could be.i was finding coshocton flakes leading up to finding it,but it does lack the mottled colors that you normally but not always find in cosh.i wouldnt argue with anyone if they said it was either or. its 3 inches long x 1 3/8 wide at the shoulders, the base is heavily ground and it appears to have had one resharpening. and im typing it as a newton falls point, big sandy was my initial thoughts but that may be a little out of my region.

Man that is a super, super find. I am lucky to find one or two points that nice in a year. Congrats to you.

Very nice point I would call it a godar or big sandy. What is your take on the type?

nice job. you have to love that black flint. i have only found 1 point in sandusky bay, ohio, but seeing all these water found pieces makes me want to start looking more in the creeks and rivers near my sites!

R-T Fact Hunter, think its a newton falls point, big sandy kind of out of region, but both are virtually the same thing, maybe a little different on time period.

That is beautiful. It deserves a frame of its own. Glad you did that last sandbar. One of the prettiest I have seen found in some time.
Congratulations you must be stoked.

Awesome point greg and a really nice in situ picture. Definitely one of the best Archaic Side Notch Points I have seen in a while. The material does look very much like Zaleski. I wonder if being in the creek is the reason it doesn't have the usual high gloss that Zaleski normally has?
