Nearly my entire Sunday morning was spent under and around an old apple tree. The house on the property was built around 1810. Yesterday's hunted yielded some amazing large tombac buttons, a 1769 Irish Halfpenny (which didn't clean up very well), Two KG II Halfpennies, unidentified large and small coppers, and some other assorted buttons. The gilted button took about 30 minutes to recover from a network of roots. At first I thought all the time was wasted on a shotgun shell, but once I took a good look I knew it was a good candidate for an acid treatment - very happy with the results!
