Something pretty cool just came along. I recently asked for permission to hunt a very old Octagonal Schoolhouse in Wrightstown PA. I got a reply stating that the proposal was to be discussed at their next town meeting. They also asked if I would be so kind to help out with their elementary schools 50th birthday party celebration. They somehow have lost the exact location of the schools 50 year old time capsules, there are 2 of them. They don't have many leads on where they may be or how deep they were buried. Does any one know if there is a common depth or size for a time capsule?

Thanks,
Hoof

I know we burred some in school growing up. Come to think of it they were never dug up to my knowlege? That was over 30 years ago.
I think we put them around two - three feet. Maybe we should all start a time capsule recovery service ;D

Insuring That Capsules Aren't Lost to Time

''Our estimates are there may be 10,000 time capsules - most of them lost,'' he said. ''Just in the last few days since this conference started, we found out about six capsules in Atlanta that we hadn't known existed.''

Guess I'll save up for a ground penetrating unit. Probably have to sell my house now. Better go tell the boss why were moving.

Thanks for the help guys. That time capsule recovery company sounds pretty cool...honestly. I'm always thinking of a small service company to start up. I went into this knowing nothing about them at all. My contact got back to me with some rather strict guidlines. She said I will not be able to dig anything...ahhhhhhhhh what?! Oh yeah thats right my detector has X-ray vision and a little LCD display. Not only that, she has no idea what it's even made out of, no approximate location and no idea what is involved in finding something underground. I told her that her that it would be much easier to search for former teachers and past alumni, someone who was actually there. What do you guys think about this?

If you can get your hands on a septic system testing probe you may be able to locate it that way. You just run them in the ground and probe until you hit something solid. Of course this is after you get a good sinal somewhere. Just a thought. Then say " I think I found it, here's the shovel" guess how quick you will be able to dig if its 90 degrees out! ;D

I'm in if you want to talk about the business venture. I'm like you, always have my feelers out for extra/permanant income.....
