Today I am remembering my Grandfather Walt. He was a scout in Belgium on the 5th of August 1914 with the 5th Scottish Rifles, in the trenches of France for 4 months in early 1916 and ended the war on the 13th of November 1918 as a Stokes Mortar Unit officer with the Kings African Rifles in East Africa. Fighting from the first day of the war until two days after WW1 ended.
