got out early Saturday morning to a spot in a bad part of the city, long grass and the mosquitoes killed me, got the greenie there and the shoe button cover. then today I went out for about an hour at an old farm house near me. Old field stone foundation, the owners just recently bought it and are renovating it. They told me it was built in 1940 :tongue3: I didn't want to argue with then but I knew it had to be late 19th century. My first coin was the 1888 IH that is sweet condition. Also dug the ring, the war nick and the US army thingy (I think its some sort of rosette or tack that went into leather, not sure though) The skeleton key with tag came from my yard yesterday down about a foot. I took a picture of the redhead shell casing cause I thought it was kinda unique and had never seen that brand before. Hope everyone is making time to get out, HH, Griff

Man, that 1888 is in premo condition. All four diamonds plus full liberty. If it only has a 7 hiding under the 8. The red book does a bad job at showing the 7 in their photo. I don't see nothin. So maybe yours has it too. Nice nabs Mr J.

Awesome IH's J, that has to be the GREENEST IH I've ever seen! Love digging those war nickels too, wow for someone who thought he wouldn't be getting out much you are over doing it!!! Glad for ya though, once you get your hands on that coin killing machine you just can't help it, keep it up and HH, ffd

WOW that 88 IH is awesome dude! Nice digs all around! :icon_thumleft:

Great finds! Alas, I have been too busy to get out. I think that US Army pin is a collar pin. My dad was in for 20, but it's been so long since I seen a uniform I just can't remember. It might have been on the shoulder... Ha! Found it on this page:

HH!
good call Jade I think you're right. I have another one I dug a couple of years ago exactly like the one in your link. I thought this one was something else because it is convex rather than flat, but the back is pretty much the same for a collar pin. Hope you find some time to get out, this week looks real nice. HH

Fine digs, J. :icon_thumleft: That '88 IH is a beaut! Love the skeleton key. :hello2: Glad you're getting out.

HH
