6-28 finds

Just now getting a chance to post these, all but the belt buckle and the battery were found in the usual spot where I found the 1793 wreath cent. It was so hot, the grass and bushes were so tall, and the deerflies were on me and the kids by the hundreds. Only managed a couple of hours before I freaked out and ran for our lives back to the safety of the car. I found the solid broken belt buckle by a spot off of 17A in Mount Pleasant where a Sunoco will soon be built.....no idea how old. Also, can anyone identify the thing that kinda looks like the base of a sword without the hole for the blade? This hobby is becoming an obsession........ I don't even go fishing anymore.......

I know what you mean. I used to take the boat out fishing 2-3 times a week. I still take the family boating on occasion but have only gone fishing once. Metal detecting during most of my free time

The first pic I think is a brooch pin with a flowerpot or some suns or something.........Silver Shano on Youtube found one just like it in Massachusetts last week but his had a spiral design on it....Very fun and exciting this is.....and no cure in sight LOL!! Going to Florida for the weekend right near where the 1715 fleet of treasure ships sank.......gold and silver in the forecast perhaps?

Nice old finds! The first pic looks similar to a piece I found 2 years ago. I was told it was a strap guide for a horse

I am the same way-I used to fish all the time, but I rarely ever go anymore. Too busy metal detecting and hunting for arrowheads & fossils-my old fishing buddy is about ready to disown me.

The older the better!! I like Revolutionary War era stuff a lot better than Civil War....I used to go to museums a lot but this hobby actually lets me find the stuff myself!!

Lol. Same here bro. Starting MDing last year, only been fishing like 2 or 3 times. MDing is fishing really, just for money, jewelry, and old relics. I'm obsessed.

I am the same way-anything from the Colonial era is cool. Never found any Civil War relics & I'd like to, but there's something about finding items used by our forefathers as they settled our country that is exciting (at least to me).

If you ever need anyone to help you with your obsession let me know-I can hit I-26 & be there in a flash.
