6 Silver Dimes, 39 Wheats!! 16 For 16 & 17 For 17!!

Hello Everyone,

I haven't posted for a while, but I've been seeing a lot of great finds by everyone on the forums. Nice job!!

I was able to get out for a couple of short hunts this week, and wouldn't you know it, I found silver on both hunts, extending my consecutive silver streak to 17 straight hunts with the SE Pro coil. I keep going back to the park that has produced the most old coins for me this year. It still hasn't let me down. I'm nearing 100 silver coin finds from this park alone this year, which amount to a little over two-fifths of my silver coin finds this year. I wish there were more parks like this around me.

For the two days, I ended up with 6 silver dimes (3 mercs - '26, '43, '44, 3 rosies - '50, '54, '64), along with 39 wheat pennies, ranging in dates from the teens to the fifties. The little pendant I found today reads, "Hollywood High School - Achieve The Honorable".

I took my PI detector to my local beaches/lagoons last week, hoping to get a little bit of gold, but all I ended up with was a bunch of crusty clad, along with a lot of rust items. Finding old coins in the turf is my favorite type of detecting, but it felt good to have a change of scenery and see my girlfriend dig a few craters in the sand with my scoop.

Hey, my friend, you are on a total roll this year! That SE coil was a great investment and probably has already paid for itself. Wow, 100 wilvers from one park...now that is a true professional at work!

What are you at this year? Hmmmmm...273? You will definitely hit 500 this year!

Did you just get the PI unit? I have always wanted to dive a shipwreck and have thought of purchasing one. But, I don't think you will see this mountain man from PA diving in the Great White waters.

Thanks, Marcus. Actually, I had to give my muscles/shoulder a little rest last week, so I took the PI out...it's so much easier swinging and digging. It was actually therapeutic, but a little more tiring on the legs. Digging 50+ 9" plugs in dry/rooty soil is not for the faint of heart. I kept my two hunts in the turf this week to just a few hours. My girl won't go detecting in the turf with me. She went a couple of times, but those words, "Can we go now?" don't have a pleasant ring in your ear.

Thanks, Bryce!! Yep, she's still producing!! Although it seems as though the SE pro coil is putting more load on my right shoulder/chest muscle than the 1050 did since I've been using it. It's hard for me to swing this coil for more than a half day. Must have something to do with creating more drag in the turf with each sweep.

Hey Kirk!! It's good to see you on the forum more often!! When are you going to change your Avatar? It's time for an update.
I've had my White's PI for a long time. I'm determined to find a piece of gold with it. Yeah, stick to your old colonial fields....I couldn't picture you at the beach finding crusty clad/bobby pins for very long.

Gee, I though you cleaned out that park by now. And good to see you'll still out there hitting the old parks, I was hoping someday we would be together maybe next year. First...Let me pull out my Explorer and dust her off, Haven't turned her on years.

Also, About time you started hitting the beach And what type of Pi are you using?

Keep hitting the beach Dan, Eventually you'll switch over to beach detecting and put park detecting behind you

Nice finds. I've been toying with the idea of investing in a new detector. I've used a lot of detectors through the years and have been very happy with my Fisher CZ-5. But now it's getting a lot of mileage on it, and I hear the stories from you guys on your detectors. I'd like to try one out somewhere before I'd replace the old reliable Fisher.
