With work; school; bad weather till this week; the son and some friends, we had to get in some swing time. A buddy of our just got his new machine so we took him someplace where we have not been disappointed when we go. Not a bad day of swinging. The son found 16 wheats and a nice looking worn 50-S Rosie. I managed only 10 wheats but 3 mercs and a war nickel. 2 of the mercs were just on top of the ground. Our buddy didn't do that bad as well for his first time with us. Going slow and learning his new machine gave him a great looking 47-S Washing 25c.( Sorry no pic, he had to leave early) I do know not having been out for the last 4 weeks has hurt.....kinda sore today!!
Found a few toys and odd's and ends. The son found the jeep and firetruck. To bad the firetruck was thrashed!! Not to sure on the ordnance we found. Someone there said they were only training rounds cause of the paint. I sure hope so......
The half of a locket contained a photo of the time period we have been digging (30's-40's) Couldn't find the other half.
I did snag a the 1887 V nickel in our ghost town the day before when it was just be and the dogs who wanted to get out as well. They had fun and I didn't come home empty handed at least. Even though she has seen better days, the alkali in the old town just kills coins!!! She was at about 10 inches.
Anyway, enjoy the photos and with spring coming; we should be hitting it more soon!
