With work; school; bad weather till this week; the son and some friends, we had to get in some swing time. A buddy of our just got his new machine so we took him someplace where we have not been disappointed when we go. Not a bad day of swinging. The son found 16 wheats and a nice looking worn 50-S Rosie. I managed only 10 wheats but 3 mercs and a war nickel. 2 of the mercs were just on top of the ground. Our buddy didn't do that bad as well for his first time with us. Going slow and learning his new machine gave him a great looking 47-S Washing 25c.( Sorry no pic, he had to leave early) I do know not having been out for the last 4 weeks has hurt.....kinda sore today!! :tongue3:

Found a few toys and odd's and ends. The son found the jeep and firetruck. To bad the firetruck was thrashed!! Not to sure on the ordnance we found. Someone there said they were only training rounds cause of the paint. I sure hope so......:laughing7: The half of a locket contained a photo of the time period we have been digging (30's-40's) Couldn't find the other half.

I did snag a the 1887 V nickel in our ghost town the day before when it was just be and the dogs who wanted to get out as well. They had fun and I didn't come home empty handed at least. Even though she has seen better days, the alkali in the old town just kills coins!!! She was at about 10 inches.

Anyway, enjoy the photos and with spring coming; we should be hitting it more soon!

Dang B-man, I thought that you may have retired. It's been a while, welcome back to the obsession. I am hoping to get out this weekend. It's supposed to hit 50 degrees on Friday and stay in the mid to upper 40's over the weekend, before it drops down below freezing again, I hope you didn't get sore swinging that Deus....:dontknow: Looks like ya'll scored some goodies during the hunt. I recon you were back near the old base family housing area huh?

Ya Loco!!! It's been awhile! We did hit the old army base housing areas!! We needed the rain/snow; but work and training has me tied down as of late. That's ok cause shift change is mid May!!! Then its weekends OFF!!!! lots of Nevada ghost town trips are planned!! Swinging the Deus wasn't the issue. It was all the Up/Down; Up/Down:laughing7: Hope the weather out your way gives ya some nicer days!!!!
