Went back to the Brick House on 7/3 and hunted 40% of the yard with the 15 x 12 S.E.F. coil after installing a probe on my rig. Thought I must have cleaned up this site pretty well since I wasn't getting many beeps. When I took a rest break, I noticed that the switch was in the probe position. :BangHead: Needless to say I had to re-hunt that area. Dug 24 targets, only 2 coins. 1942-S (OD) nickle and a 1941 Wheat. I then wandered next door for 15 minutes and dug 3 targets.

7/4 I went to a 5 acre property in town. I spent 4 hours there continuing where I had left off on a previous hunts. I dug tons of trash. Bottle caps, cans, & pull tabs. There was a coin spill I dug, 8 clad quarters, :hello2: Pulled $2.49, oldest coin was a 1941 wheat.

I then went to a fixer-upper property that was just bought and they are clearing the yard of overgrowth. Did not spend much time there. The house was built 1900. I pulled 60 cents in about 30 minutes. the oldest coin was a 1935 wheat.

Decided to re-hunt a permission I hit in the spring using my White's classic ID (8" coil). I dug a small coin spill in the front yard that was 7" deep. 3 wheats (1909, 1917, & 1918). :icon_thumleft: In the side yard I dug up a crumbling compact and put in my finds pouch. When I got home and pulled it out of my pouch I found that it contained a small 4 coin cache. 4 wheats (1914, 1934, 1944, & 1948). :headbang:

Hope ya''ll had a great holiday, I sure did. Now it's time to get out and re-hunt a few more older permissions using the large coil.

Wow, you had a very productive day. The hidden treasures in the compact was a welcome find.

Thank you for sharing.

Cool little cache in the compact! Good job on your productive hunt!

I like the compact story. Have found a few myself, but no treasure inside. Good hunting!

image.webpimage.webpNice variety of finds there Loco, well done sir! Do you have any idea what that small "wagon wheel looking" thing is? I found something very similar to that, and don't have a clue as to what it is.

You mock Old Dude with yet another OD nickel! Nice work. Lol

Now that's what I call treasure hunting! Congratulations on a very productive hunt!

LOCO SEE YOU HAD A PRODUCTIVE DAY YOU GOT A LITTLE OF EVERYTHING NOT BAD I WOULD SAY.

Some busy digs. Congrats!

Cool finds man, and nice job on the OD nickel

Great stuff man! I haven't been out in a week or so, and I'm itching. Whenever I see people post coin spills, it makes the itch stronger! Congrats and continued success!

The one I found has a geared edge and may have been in a clock or toy. Your's I don't know, the large hole in one of the spokes is the key. My first impression is that it went to a toy train, but then I wonder why they would make all those holes near the edge?

Thanks Loco! That's a better thought than any I had for sure! Think I'll post pic in the "what is it" forum.

Nice looking "OD" nickel!!! :laughing7:

Nice cache save, keep hoping for my first one here still :headbang: That looks like a train wheel possibly from one of those old lightweight wind up toys ?
