I need help identifying this unit and time period.
Bridal rosette? Pants button?

Are the shank pieces pliable? Easily bent? Rigid?
If pliable it could be part of a hat badge.
If rigid, maybe a broken Edwardian cufflink? Although it seems a bit big for that...
The edge damage is also curious... Maybe something was attached there, like a loop or a hook...
They are rigid. As far as I'm willing to try to bend, it doesn't seem to move easily. This property I found an 1859 Federal Enlisted Cavalry boot spur. But the home built in early 1800s. Found this out in a field.Are the shank pieces pliable? Easily bent? Rigid?

Typically, if it's something common the goats on here chime in quick with verifiable pics. It appears to have lead in the base. And the tangs look like they were one piece and pulled straight and snip/ripped apart.Having rigid tangs, I can't see it being horse tack.
