I cannot describe how pissed I am right now! I had two copyright violations this year. One was a replica Rolex which was removed after the deal was done(totally my fault) and the other was an IWC watch that I thought was real and someone sent me an email link to a fake one that matched mine exactly. I called eBay to end the listing since there was less than 12 hours left and I didn't want to sell a fake watch and get in trouble. Well eBay says they cannot end the auction since it had less than 12 hours remaining and that I could cancel the bids! I found that strange since they have been known to end auctions whenever they wanted! They explained to me how to cancel all of the bids and leave notes why. I had someone ask about the canceled bids and I answered with the copy being added to the listing. I said DO NOT BID ALL BIDS WILL BE CANCELED THE WATCH CANNOT BE AUTHENTICATED AND IS MORE THAN LIKELY COUNTERFEIT. Someone bids at the last minute and I immediately refund his money and explain that he did not read the auction and the watch is fake. He seemed fine but a week later, left me negative feedback "The watch was fake!". I called eBay and they said that the feedback was fine because it was his experience.
Now to today. They removed a Tiffany & Co bracelet I had listed because I listed it as a pendant(copied another bracelet listing)...Miscategorized Items Policy. I corrected that and relisted it. Then I get an email an hour later that the bracelet was removed and I have been suspended for 7 days because of copyright violation. They thought the bracelet was fake. I called and argued with the customer service heifer over the fact that the pictures were clear in showing the bracelet and the description stated how all of my Tiffany jewelry is authenticated at the Tiffany store itself and for folks to be aware of fake Tiffany pieces on the internet! She said perhaps I should explain what kind of bracelet it was and I told her the title is the exact title gives to the bracelet. Long story short, I escalated it to her manager and he ays it wasn't the bracelet but the 2 violations prior to this. It is a business decision by eBay and that I should avoid selling "branded" items that you don't use in your home in the future. WTHeck!? I said that since I can guarantee the bracelet is Tiffany, that should not be an issue at all and he said that I would need a receipt of some kind from the purchase. I said the bracelet is RETIRED (which is why it still sells for about $200 on eBay) and that no one would still have their receipt...which led him to then say "With the item being out production, our team cannot readily date the item and with your past violations.....your suspension stands. But I understand your point of view Sir". It was one of the few times that I can say if he had been in my presence, I would have threatened him with physical violence. I was that pissed. And I RARELY get upset. They just went around and around in circles explaining why the bracelet violated their policy, then it didn't because of the stuff I described, but because it did violate policy...I can't sell for 7 days. I asked what are the branded items I cannot sell since I am currently looking at items like Sony, Chanel, Burberry, Nakamichi, Garmin, etc...Oh yea...and the OTHER Tiffany bracelet that is still active. He said they didn't have a list of brands but that I should stick to selling the stuff they DIDN'T remove and items that are not needed outside the home(don't know what he meant by that). I told him eBay doesn't care about small time sellers and its been a trend with them and we both wished each other a nice day and that was it. I coulda cussed him but I couldn't. I blame my Christian beliefs and upbringing!
OK...I feel better. Rant over. Now I guess I will seriously look into Amazon! I have 7 days available!
