Havent posted much lately, but figured todays finds were worthy of a post.
Started out at a construction site that I have been eyeballing, and got skunked. The dozers packed the oyster shell filled dirt tight.
Decided to go try a token site near a factory labor camp where I thought I might find a token, and ended up digging 5 DLD tokens. I think I have 10 or 11 of these now from this spot.
Then I went to another area where the dozers pushed around some dirt near a construction site, only to get skunked again.
Decided to go to another area where I have been digging tokens, and ended up with 2 more. I had another good token hunt a while back where I dug 7 tokens in one day, so I decided to see if I could get 8. So I kept digging and pulled out a gold wedding band from this 4th spot that said Always Forever 14K. So I didn't get my 8 tokens, but it was still a heck of a day.
Second site, First 2 DLD's, and group shot of all 5

4th site with a GPT Co., a gaming token, and the 14K band

Group shot of Todays Finds. Was a hot one today in South Mississippi.

Congratualtions on the nice finds and Gold surprise! :occasion14:

Always nice to find a golden surprise. Wish it happened more often, eh ?

Ahhh....that gold certainly sticks out among all those crusty tokens! Congrats on your perseverance, paid off huge! Ddf.

Thanks Rick. Gold rings do not pop up that often for me, so yes.

Thanks DDF. Yes, the ring does stand out for sure, but the soil at the first token site is kind, and the first 5 will clean up nicely.
Heres a pic of 2 of the earlier DLD tokens after cleaning.

Thanks BB. I'm still at it, but it has been slow lately. Only digging a random silver coin or token lately. Havent gotten out as much as I used to, since our 4 month old daughter was born, being a dad is a lot of work, but totally worth it. She's awesome.
Those killer old sites don't come around that often. That one I was getting the cobs at is still wide open. They cleared it, and then stopped development. Ive been over that sucker again and again, and usually don't find much other than a random round-ball or something. Sure wish a dozer would go back in there and push that dirt around again.

Congrats on becoming a pop !! Once they get a bit older it gets easier. My boy is 5 and he helps me dig now. He eyeballed a silver coin not long ago and hes hooked now. Nothing more satisfying than doing what you love with your kid !! Happy hunting !! Would love to see you posting multiple cobbs again, that was something !!!

Wow, 7 tokens in one outing is just nuts ! Very nice finds.

I really like tokens and yours are beauuutiful! Nice job.

Of course the gold band is always a thrill. Keep swingin.

Thanks. I see you are from Maryland. Lots of early Cannery tokens to be found up there as well.
Many of the people that worked in our Canneries, came from Maryland in the summer by train.
People called them Bohemians i.e. European Immigrants who were Migrant workers..
Some of my great great grandparents came here from MD for work, and never went back.

Tokens are always nice to find! It's also awesome how after all those sites, and wanting to find that 8th token it was a gold ring that happened to end up under your coil. Sometimes they just seem meant to be. Grats!

Love the tokens, but gold is the precious! Congrats on the treasure, mate! :occasion14:
