That ring is Beautiful And Would Look Great restored and Cleaned!!! Chug

Heck, I haven't found 7 Indians ever, or anything gold. I'm jealous. Congratulations!!!! I bet you were fired up. Keep it going.

Very nice gold ring ! I think the earlier post is spot on , you probably could get the missing stones replaced - and give that ring to the
wife , the daughter , the girlfriend , you get the idea !

That ring is a beauty I don't think it is actually missing any stones it looks as though it represents a bud of a flower opening. Notice that the unopened bud is more closed and the second is a little more open and then a bloom.IMO

Great finds Helton! Thanks for sharing...

Very nice ring. Pretty red rubies. Would love to find one with rubies. Curious if the ring is marked with the purity of the gold ( 10k , 14k ...)

Oh and by the way I notice you had a shovel as one of your digging tools in one or two of of your video shots. Just a friendly suggestion at - least in public places like parks or schools - you might want to be little careful about digging large holes using shovels. I don't know about your part of Michigan but out here in So Cal that would get some grounds keeping guy or some busy body citiizen all up in arms and might end up either with a call to the local police and/or result in the local municipality putting restrictions on future MD activiity in the area.

Happy to see u are off to a fast start for 2014. Thank you for sharing your finds. Love the ring!

Ha I knew someone would call me out on that one eventually. I typically only use that shovel in fields and things like that, but I do use it here only because there are about a dozen other detectorists in the area who use them here, including one police officer, so I don't worry about public opinion at this particular park. Every other park I go to I only bring my lesche.

:)

the best I can tell from the pics, it appears to be garnets in the ring. in my opinion, based on the styling of the shoulders of the ring, I believe it dates to the early 50's

Very nice haul.

Nice finds! is there anything on the front of the button?

The front of the button is just a big round bulge, like a half circle. I think it was once gold plated but can't tell for sure. No writing on it at all, and some of the string is still tied around the loop on the back so I think it's probably not that old.

Edit: Actually you were probably talking about the button pictured by itself. The front is flat with a hole in the center. I dated it 1830-1850 I think.
