8/15/10 Enoshima Beach, Japan

[Coins4Cheese]

Went out metal detecting at Enoshima Beach, Japan. I found 232 modern yen (About $2.32), an old Japanese coin (Kuan-Ei-Tsu-Ho), and a dogtag. I called up the owner, and the dog died about a year ago . The dog's name was "Tink", and I'll be sending the tag to the owner soon.

I also met a fellow metal detector! About time; I have never seen one in Japan before! We talked for awhile, and he knows me as Coins4Cheese and reads my posts. He also has an Ace 250, same as me, and I thought that was kind of cool. Anyways, enjoy the pics and HH.

Good to hear about another detectorist from this side of the world.....I hunt in S. Korea. I have a nice found collection of
those holed Japanese coins......probably 20 or so.
My son lives near Tokyo......suburbs......does missionary work there. He came here to visit me. My son living here, and I,
took my Japanese son out hunting......found some old Korean coins, but no Japanese coin, except some of the aluminum
1940 - 1945 coins. BUT....did find two old darkened beer bottles.....both with Japanese and Chinese characters on them....
that was here in S. Korea. Really got a kick out of that.
If you get to this side of the sea, let me know, and we'll see if I can get some Saturday off and we can head out to the hills together. Have some good hunts......
Oh, by the way.....was the other hunter an American? I only know of one Korean person hunting with a detector. He hunts
the beaches......I've seen him on t.v. a couple of times. Other than that, there are a couple of other Americans, like myself, that hunt here.

I'm pretty certain that he was American, but I'm not 100% sure. He may of been from Europe.
