8/26/06 - $100/quarters

I timed my visit to the employee vault badly since they were gone to lunch so I couldn't get any halves. I also struck out at B of A as they were out of nickels. So I settled for $100 in quarters from the casino cage. Got my first Colorado D and a 2000 Canadian themed quarter. This one was "Creativity." Better than getting skunked.

What's a "Themed' quarter? Kinda like the states quarters, only Canadian?

Right, only Canada did their version of the State Quarter program in 1992, releasing one new quarter a month for each province and territory. That's where the US got the idea. It proved so popular that they did another 12-design series in 2000 with themes like Health, Ingenuity, Wisdom, Achievement, etc. I've found Pride and Creativity so far.

Brought home $200 in halves from the casino and got pffft! One bicentennial half had a sticker on it that said "First National Bank, Seminole Texas". Is that anyone's marker?
