8" EXcelerator Searchcoil

Has anyone ever used 1 of these? I live in AZ. and am Purchasing an MXT, I have been told that because of the ground mineralization that a double-D coil is recommended, I'm not sure which coil to get, I would like a smaller coil, but I also dont want to loose depth.

I have been hunting coins in the midwest since '96 but have never tried hunting in heavy mineralized area's. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

first question would be ... for what machine?

I had one of the larger (15") excellerator coils for my whites dfx, and wasn't happy with it. I ended up selling it and getting the 1400 DD coil from whites. But, I've heard good about the excellerator coils too. I just wasn't happy with mine
