Hello, My Friends!!
I'm happy to say that my consecutive silver streak is still alive at 33 hunts with my SE Pro.
I just couldn't go back to any other park but the "silver park" to try and extend my streak. Last Friday, I was able to find 2 silver dimes ('61 Rosie, '42, Merc) in a previously pounded area, along with 10 wheats. I kept thinking to myself, "this was it", but over the weekend I drew a mental image of the park, and was trying to figure out a spot that I haven't swung my coil over yet. I had a spot in mind, so today I went to that section. It wasn't panning out so well...after the first hour, I had a few wheats. The next two hours were just the opposite. I found a "hot spot", and managed 5 silver coins ('54 Washington, '53, '54, '55 Rosies, '41 Merc), along with 16 wheats. There was quite a bit of clad in the area too. I wasn't passing up the quarter hits, and dug 32 clad quarters also. Mike(ratman), and his Dad arrived around this time, and I showed them the "hot spot", but after a couple more hours of hunting, all we managed were about 12 more wheats between Mike and me. I was very satisfied with my day, and will probably be returning back to try for #34 soon.
Yesterday, I decided to go to my local beach at low tide, and I managed to find an antique woman's silver ring. It's been in the surf for quite some time. It was completely gray when I found it. I cleaned it up as best as I could. Not sure what the black stone on it is. I dug some crusty clad, along with the usual fishing weights, lures, and trash. It was a pleasant hunt from the usual deep turf digging that I like to do. The black sand was very heavy everywhere on the beach yesterday. I've never seen this beach like that before.
So, all in all, the silver is still flowing at the "silver park". I think I better draw up another mental image of the park to figure out where my next hunt will be. I hope it works again!
Thanks for looking!
