Looks like money to me Gabbit, but just a little curious! Have you or any of the other posters from Idaho ever searched that old school coming south down Monida Pass before you get to Spencer? I have'nt been by there in a number of years, but always wanted to try it. I suppose a lot of other people have had the same idea since it sits right next to I15.

I haven't been around Idaho all that much -- consider Wyoming my main stomping grounds. If you do swing by and hunt it let us know how it goes.

Very nice ring Gabbit! That'd make fer a nice weekend for me anytime! Did Angelo go out with you this weekend? If so, how did he do? Keep finding the good stuff! ;D
Also MonDak, I live in Pocatello, my Dad is in Butte Montana right off the I15. I may do a quick trip up there this weekend & stop off & try that school for an hour or two. If Im able to make it I'll let you know how I do! Thanks fer the tip! (60-40 split on the loot.........right?)

Yep -- Angelo came with this weekend -- he is picking it up -- The mill that we went to detect had been torn down there was more metal and iron laying around than I knew what to do with -- also a lot of hot rocks -- I was getting a lot of falsing ect.. so we headed off to Boise to detect a couple of old schools. The dirt at the schools had for the mostpart been brought in, so nothing really that old was found. I am pretty sure that he beginning to be able to tell what something is before he digs it. He has dug a couple of holes to China only to find the coin was about an inch down on the outside of his hole (this is where the x2 pinpoint probe comes into play), but then again who hasn't?

GAB, Looks Like You Had A Good Day, The Ring Is A Very Nice Find, Congrats. trk5capt...

Nice ring you got there Gabbit. I know how spots get slow. Between me and my brother I have to have a ton of spots all the time. It's hard coming up with them. But I always seem to find something.

About time for me to put my sales hat on and try and find a few new places to hunt :)

when you hunt a ball field, are you in the diamond or out of it, i kind of feel funny digging in the diamond.

don't hunt inside the diamond pretty much just the outfeild

Going to post the totals from the ballfeild here soon -- think most everyone will be surprised just how much can come out of one small sized ballpark

So you're hunting the Idaho Wyoming border huh? Back in 1973 I was riding a dirt bike up around Palisades Dam. Lost my wallet up there and it had a 100 dollar bill in it. Maybe you, Angelo, and Mighty AP ca n go find it for me. hehe

Is the wallet made of metal? :)

I play Texas Hold'em on line and live tournaments.

I SUCK!

I metal detect.

I SUCK!

I tag along with Gabbit. He spits. digs where the spit falls and digs up silver.

I use the detector and pull up tabs.

One more time of nothing of value and I'm hanging myself from a tulip plant.

You all pray for me.

Hey Angelo, DONT GIVE UP!!! i know it is discouraging at first but you will get the hang of it & be digging all kinds of good stuff very soon! Next time you go out with Gabbit just grab his beltloop, follow closely & watch what he does. Im sure you will learn lots from an ol' pro like him! There is a learning curve that goes with this hobby, some machines are tougher to figure out than others but you WILL master your machine & be pulling up good stuff. I think Gabbits posts have shown you are in a great area for silver. ;D

Patience grasshopper -- just get out and about more -- learn to tell what your detector is telling you when it is an inch or two deep. Once you get that down the rest is a piece of cake -- Took me about 20 hours of hunting before I found my first ring -- about 30-40 to find my first wheat and about 100 to find my first piece of silver. I think I found 3 pieces of silver a couple silver rings and 10 wheat pennies and about 100 bucks in clad before I felt like I knew a bit about what I was doing. Now if I hunt more than 10 hours w/out silver I get a bit impatient :) It will come just gotta put some time into it.
