9_26_09 Street tear-out finds

..........I was looking at 3 s/w tear outs this week end..I looked at the oldest hood from the teens/twenties....but it is not ready to hunt yet........Then my second choice was a hood from the mid 20's - 1935 when it was built.........but again.......not enough had been removed...........I did not think much of my 3rd choice as the houses were built 1948-1957...but I said what the heck....they really pealed back the parkway so why not give it a try.............I thought all I might get would be a couple wheats ,maybe a rosie or 2 ,and possibly a merc.....But I was pleasantly suprized......Who would have 'thunk it'

Nice tear-out finds. There's a lot of curb tear-out work going on by my work and it looks like a significant amount of turf near the curb has been pulled up too. I considered hitting it, but the neighborhood isn't very friendly, and I just don't think it's worth it. But, as you've shown, that kind of stuff can really produce!
