I went out today for a little while before the rain sets in AGAIN for the next two days. I went back to an old homesite location that has never let me down, I have always pulled a few buckles, buttons, and coins out in the past and today it did not dissapoint either, I ended up with 2 pack studs, 2 pieces of harmonica reeds, 3 wheat pennies, (1917,1921,192?) some round thingy with an eagle on it, any ideas  and then the best find of the day, a Pepsi Cola Brass Tag of some sort, any help iding the tag, would be much appreciated. It was a good day and nice to get out and relieve that itch to swing.

The front "The American Beverage" " Pepsi Cola"

The back reads "Pepsi Cola" "No. A 194" "For Identification Communicate with Pepsi Cola Co. New Bern NC Giving Number"

And the other thing

Not knowing the size or diameter of the "Other thing"......
I think.....by its design and shape....and supported by the stem in the center....that its a "Bell".
My wag for the morning.

LOOKS LIKE AN OLD DOORBELL OR POSSIBLY A TELEPHONE BELL

The "other thing" is a doorbell. I'm not sure how old but I've dug several like that with patriotic motifs on them. From the type of eagle I would guess mid 1800's but again I don't know much of anything about them. that's a nice one though

Neat finds! Yes, VaYank & Tired Iron are right; it is a door bell; here is a pic of the inside of one I found. Yours may be mechanical instead of electrical. Breezie

Breezie's right. Your's was more than likely mechanical. the bell itself was on the inside of the door and on the ouside there would be a crank, a thing that looked like the end of a key, or a chain or cord. Depending on the lock. The ones that had the crack or key like pices were called rotary bells. When I was a kid there was still one on the door of my aunt's house.
