We catch skates quite often while fishing for halibut in Alaska. So far nothing that big. The ones we get are around 50-80 lbs. It is discouraging when you think you have a nice halibut on the line and it ends up being a skate. It's like reeling in a pool table which spends a lot of your fishing "energy".
