In the picture below you will see me, my father, my grandfather,my great-grandfather(in the picture), and my great-great-grandfather(in the ground). My GG-grandfather is as far back as anyone can trace our family tree. In the grassy land in the background of the picture is where his house once stood. This Saturday myself and a few others plan on metal-detecting this land in hopes of finding some old family relics. I'll keep you posted as to what we find. Wish me luck!

Welcome to T-Net Jedediah!! good luck on your hunt, hope you find some great stuff

You've already got a treasure, and it's standing/sitting all around you in that photo! I wish that I could get back to "the old homestead" (I was raised in an apartment building in NYC)-you are lucky to have access to the property where your people came from. Good luck with your hunt, and don't forget to let us know what you find.

Nice story hope you find something from the past 8) AA

Here is what we found. Nothing to cash in on but fun to find for sure. If anyone wants to take a stab at guessing what they are go right ahead. I'll also post some close up picks. We only stayed for a couple hours do to the heat. We will try to make another trip there in the fall.

Some of those pieces look like old castiron stove parts, they use to break them to pieces with sledge hammers. Just have Patience, there bound to be more treasure waiting for you, also make sure you go over the same area more than once in different directions, it will help to locate items under the ground. Good luck. Ed
