I normally wait until I've gone through all the cent bags for the week before posting. However the very 1st bag I looked at tonight deserves mention all by itself. There were a total of 280 wheat cents in the bag. The even more amazing thing is that those 280 consitituted a date set minus the 1931. Here's the total and a few pic. I kept out about 10 of the nicer/rarer ones for individual pics and of course my battery died. As soon as it recharges I'll add the individual pictures.

Very nice bag. Still waiting for my first bag like that, now that I started buying all the penny/nickel bags from two branches each week (technically three, but since one branch just opened they haven't filled any bags yet)... :) Might add a fourth branch as well, but I haven't had a chance to talk to the teller in charge of the coin machine yet to see if I can buy the bags, keep forgetting to call (worst case they roll their own coin and I can buy boxes which is almost the same).

Your finds fill up a few holes in the tracking list as well. With that in mind were either of the 1928-S or 1941-S pennies of the large mintmark variety? In fact once I update the tracking list we will be down to 18 wheat pennies left (unless either the 28-S or 41-S large mintmark variety gets crossed off).

**Correction. I posted too soon, after marking fiatboy's recent penny finds in as well the tracking list will be down to 13 wheat pennies.

OMG, yesterday was org wheatie day. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Unbelievable lol

yeah, you surely had your "wheaties" yesterday morning.

Great finds !!

nice finds! looks like someone dumped a collection! can you buy the other bags? if there are old coins in the cents, there might be an old coin in the other coin bags.

My 2 1928s were both small mint mark. haven't checked the 41s yet

I could get them but.....

I schedule my pickups and dumps on the day before they ship the full bags out, that way my dump bank doesn't have to tie up vault space with lots of bags. The branch where this particular bag came from is very busy and I average 5-6 bags per week just from them. They fill up other bag denominations just as quickly.

By the time I get home and start to look at cents a day or two has passed so anything they would have had is probably already shipped out.

I don't want to tie up 4-5 thousand dollars a week in the other denominations, not to mention that I would have to buy a new vehicle to handle the weight :D

Having said that if a teller mentions a particular customer or group brought in a large amount of coin from home, I'll occasionally buy everything just for a look see.
