Hello all! I got out yesterday to a few early sites. It was a buckle kind of day as that was my most prominent find (4). Hard to believe not one flat button was found... I found this beautiful EDITED VICTORIAN SASH (Thanks for the ID Dan) buckle with a lot of gold gilt left (took forever to clean with all the detail!) I also found this really neat brooch or small buckle that appears to have ivory inlays. It almost looks Middle Eastern?? I'm also not sure about this large piece of brass with 2S engraved in it. The script looks colonial. Any ideas? Thanks for looking & HH!

Nice stuff josh - sorry - the buckle is not a colonial shoe buckle. It is a victorian era (perhaps a bit earlier) women's sash buckle.

Still nice stuff - I have no idea on the Arabic thing!

I'll know now, as usual thanks for the help! After looking at the real deal colonial buckles I've found I now see the difference. Like you said, the colonial buckles were cast & not stamped. I wish there was a way to change the titles on threads now that I have an updated ID!

Cool sash buckle, I found one that had both pieces at a colonial site.

Great finds! Thanks for sharing...

The second item looks like a buckle too. I think the one side has the remains of the hoop for the belt in the other pointy side is where the hook was.

Very nice stuff bud . Always amazes me when no coins or even a flat button comes from a site

Congrats.

Very cool finds. The inlaid ivory sure does take it up a few notches.

Nice finds. Sometimes I go to a site and find nothing but buttons. Guess that's just how it goes.

The smaller piece with the inlay is almost certainly part of a two part ladies buckle set , very typical "Art Deco" styling - Nice finds .

I agree about the buckle, I would just like to know more about the design as it's very unusual. I'm also still curious about the large brass piece, surprised nobody's chimed in on that.

Very nice finds. Congrats!

Glad to see you're still bale to get out Josh. And making some nice finds to boot. Love that sash buckle!
