I read about folks rubbing a hole thru the plastic at the tip of the ProPointer. I haven't done that yet, and dont want to.

I found these on Thingiverse....A site full of models for 3d printers. Thats the catch, you need to make this on a 3d printer.

I wonder how much better these covers are (I've seen other versions) over just covering the tip in epoxy or JB Weld.

I really don't know in comparison.

Haven't been able to try it out in the real world yet. I'll report back on their durability after a few months use I suppose.

Wasnt sayin they were wonderful, just that they existed. The comments seemed favorable. It sounded as if some used them for protection, and some for repair.

These things cost me maybe a nickel each. they hold on well, and are easy to replace with just a tug.

I use chair leg protectors found at lowes or HD. Less than $2.00 for 4.

I wasn't trying to imply they weren't worth using. My question was made with assumption that someone was going to have to buy one of these for $5 or something.

You're right, if you already have a 3D printer, then making it yourself would be super cheap.

Yea, I’ve rubbed a hole thru mine in 2 years. The plastic isn’t the same as the black ones . I’ve have a black one I used for 6+ years with no problems besides the button.

Wasn't taken that way, no worries.

I really have no clue how they'll do.

Best of luck to you with the new covers.

JB weld on top works great

I have used epoxy on all of my pinpointer tips for years and have never had a problem.

Would the internals from the carrot fit seamlessly into the black Garrett pinpointers?

Thanks for the info! :icon_thumleft: Do you have the link?

What size chair leg portector fits the Garrett Propointer? 3/4 or 1”?

Nokta pinpointer comes with 2 of these in the box.

They both fit. However I've been using the 3/4 because it still slides down inside the holster. It's a tight fit to get on but once it is on there you're good to go.

I've been seeing these things on the market lately. I don't know how much they'll do for preventing wear, I suspect not much, but for pinpointers that aren't waterproof or if you'd like to add more protection to a waterproof pinpointer they might do the trick. I bought 2 at the end of last season for my Bullseye TRX and Tek-PointImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1554177144.246228.webp
