I've spent a couple days out in the boonies hunting on a battlefield that I finally got permission to dig on. So far I have only given a small portion of it my attention, but I have been digging a lot! Many many bullets, including a pair of perfect dropped .69 Tower musket bullets. Also found a musket nipple a few feet from half a dozen .69 balls and buckshot. A few shell fragments as well! Just waiting for a belt plate to pop up!
I've been finding a lot just laying on the surface as well, including buckshot, .69 balls, a .69 French Dragoon bullet, and a keeper from a cartridge or cap box.

Wow, seems like a dream site of mine! I loveeee me some .69 Musket balls! I found my first two this year. Great historical dig!

Sounds like a great place to hunt. They are getting harder and harder to find. No telling what might turn up. Congratulations, keep us posted.

Nice haul. Looks like some nice Civil War relics.

Great work. Cool finds.

On the surface?? Good GRIEF!

Great job!!!d2

Very nice relic hunt! Congratualtions! :occasion14:

Several dozen acres were just clear cut on this property, so I have a lot of ground to cover. It has been hit pretty hard by diggers before in some areas, but I'm going to assume that because of all the eyeball finds I am in some pretty lightly treaded regions.
