Well, the Canadian has a greater chance of being found here but the 1966 Five cent from the Republic of Panama was something I wasn't expecting, where I live is just a blink in the road, a very small RV park in the middle of no where. I have also found a 25 Bahrain coin from 1974, the Arabic writing was unexpected. It just goes to prove that anything can turn up anywhere. My two grandsons are now hooked on Metal detecting in spite of the hard digging, wanting to dig everywhere no matter what. We found the usual clad and ton of trash but enough good stuff to keep them interested and fighting over the detector and pin pointer. View attachment 1017447

My Grandson's when they go with me are ALWAYS fighting and arguing about who's gonna dig, who gets the pinpointer or who had it last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice finds buddy.

Metal detecting versus video games.... outside, in the heat and furiously digging the hard packed clay/rock, arguing over who used the detector last and the then the whooping out loud when a coin is found! Of course there is the "foiled" again and the auuu pull tab again. They are using the Pioneer 101 so it is being used again which is good, they want to use my AT GOLD but that isn't happening!

Well that is nice to find something so unusual to the area! But as a first generation gamer i can attest that going out treasure hunting real life is far better then treasure hunting a game, especially with my kids. I never thought i would find a hobby that would get us out more that doesn't cost a small fortune and off the all day indoor tech poison but by the luck of an old cool looking buried key helping kylee with sand castles here we are. My detector will be delivered today and we probably wont be back till the wee hours of the morn once its setup lol. Hope to find some cool coins like your or heck even a hunk of junk will do

Nice looking coins! Guess more folks than ya think pass thru your neck of the woods!
Well it looks like your going to need to get 2 detectors and 2 pin pointers!

First they have to prove they will take care of the cheap one, they have a new Accu Find, I use the Garrett Pin pointer. We had a contest a little while ago, I ended up with .80 cents and they had 53 cents... it was a marathon, youth against the old man in the heat. They were digging every signal as fast as they could, I was searching for coin signals hard after they pulled the quarter out and was kind of worried until I heard the bickering. But they are hooked and it is fun to have them begging me to go out with them...love it!

A family that plays together..stays together..kudos dirtlooter for dragging the kids around md'ing..sounds like they're hooked!...ddf

hooked? we had to go to town for a couple of hours and they were trying their best to hurry up everyone. we had about 45 minutes of daylight left when they got home and were immediately right back out there and stayed until almost smooth dark and only came in then because the batteries had died. Their mom is picking them up about 9 in the morning and they were begging to be able to hunt before that, so they are getting up at 5:30 to eat and then get back out. Imagine that, a 14 year old and a 10 year old getting up that early to dig stuff up as fast as they can. They had quite the haul, one penny and who knows how many nails, iron pieces, wire and aluminum pieces they had...the drawback? feeding them and keeping them in lemonade! LOL! pretty darn awesome in my book!
