A couple of merc's and a surprise find.

This is what I found yesterday. The glass likeness of what I'm sure is President Grant wrapped in plated brass is interesting. It is the center piece of a bigger pin or broach. I can't find anything like it on the web. If someone has please let me know. Thanks for any help.

At first I thought it was a seal but all the ones that I've seen the image is concave so when you make the seal it's raised.

The Grant piece is amazing ! I don't pretend to know what it is , but I'll put up a guess , I think it may be a political ( campaign) button ? Perhaps it was with a ribbon in it's day ? Excellent find !
