I scanned over a couple parking lots and turned up a bunch of junk, .84 cents, and my first wheatie. I can't wait till I find some gold jewelry.

Nice score from a parking lot! Congrats on the wheatie!
Make sure you search the area of the parking lot they plow the snow to in winter, you may find the jewelry there.

It's a 1956, It's amazing how the newer pennies decay and that old wheatie is still in pretty good shape. I've found a lot of 2000+ pennies that are rotten around the edges. Like the Chevys of the 70's. Junk metal.
 
Yep the new money doesnt stand a chance of being recovered by future generations of hunters. Its very sad. At least a steel cent might stand a better chance of being in the ground.
 
Yeah "Zincolins" are a bane for sure! Looks like a good parking lot cleanup to me!
