Beautiful day on the river today with a super low tide at sunrise.
The local river has been pushing the stream back towards the south bank and making a nice little cut of about 18". My Legend has been giving me fits lately in beach mode, so I switched to park mode. In the brackish water, this switch was giving me sounds and numbers that were odd.
I was pulling the usual cans, tops when this little beauty turned up.

Here's another with a Lincoln cent for scale.

I can't exactly retire or even send the Nokta in for repairs from the proceeds, but I can cross "Find Gold" off the list.
Here's a couple more images of finds from today and yesterday.

I'm thinking that got some older gold. Congrats
That value stem is an early one, cool.
Brass out of low oxygen mud sure looks golden.😁

Can't complain with results like this. Hope you find a lot more gold!
I am not a water hunter so can't say why the Legend is cutting up unless it is a bad coil or something to do with the ST setting.

Thanks Bart, E-Trac, Pepperj, Oldmx, Almy, TrezureH., RobNC, and everyone else for the comments & wishes for more, more, more!

Older as in mis 1900's?

That sure did look gold, but I knew they wouldn't be making hollow threaded tubing out of gold. So, my mind went to a brass alloy that some of the metal had leached out of. When I found the second valve stem, I wasn't sure what it was and thought it was a leather remnant still attached to it, not rubber.
"G" for gold! I can see the loop in the top worn through, likely when it was lost. Pretty find!
I though the same thing. LOL

Thanks, and me too. And thanks for mentioning the possible fixes for the error message.
I thought of a bad coil as well, but wouldn't that cause an issue whatever mode I was in?

If you haven't tried to factory reset it try that first. If that does not work out then reset unit, update the unit, then factory reset again that may fix it.
I received a bad coil from the factory and the detector would spit up intermittently. In an ideal world you need a second coil to test with.

Congratulations on the cool piece of gold! Thanks for sharing.

Hey Pete congrats on your first gold.
Like that bottle... surprised no one else commented on that one.
Sure looks like treasure to me.
