Back in the woods for a couple of hours yesterday. Came across two interesting ( not sexy) finds. The first was coin shaped, and a little larger than a quarter. Some light cleaning revealed writing on both sides that appears French. I'm convinced its not a coin, but I'm really not sure what it is...maybe a bale seal? Any opinions would be welcome.

The next item is a gilded button. What I found strange about this item was the shape. Its kind'a oblong, and I think made of pewter ( or lead?). Maybe home made? No maker's marks to be seen.

Thanks for having a look. May the Digger Gods be with you!

Looks like a couple of nice finds.

Thanks to all for the comments. We've been blessed with very little snow in Eastern Mass so far this Fall. Hard to know how long that's going to last, so every day out is like a bonus round. HH.

Nice finds! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:
