Got out a little bit on Friday night after work to a park. 1945S Merc, a CTA token (wish I could still use it) and a neat little bulldog pin that was about 8 inches deep. The canine is stylin wearing a bowler hat, bow tie and appears to have a pipe. Also found 5 wheaties.

Nice frosty Merc!
WTG!

Wonder if that hound is named Winston, nah, then he'd be a cee-gar puffer. Very cool pin!

Got a question for you on the F70.
Took it out to try to learn how to use it better today, please bear with my almost flat-line learning curve. I went to my local park in an area that is trashy but where I've dug much silver in the past.

Out of 60 quarter reads, 57 were bottle caps. The three on-target quarters all had a slightly tighter range, values 83-85 consistent while the caps bounced 78-88.

Depth readings were inaccurate under 4 inches, basically indicating 1-3 inch targets all at 3 inches. Over 4 inches seemed right on.

Pinpoint was dead-on, that much I figured out. Awesome easy to pinpoint with this machine.

Target separation was superb also, but nothing deeper than 6 inches indicated (id'd) clearly.

This was factory preset mode program #1 plus disc adjusted to 5, notch at one.

Should I adjust sense or thresh or both?

Sweet finds Patrick! Those CTA tokens are neat too.

Lowbatts -

On the F70 and the bottle caps, that is due more to the DD coil. Does the same thing on the F75. You can try the concentric coil but you won't get the same separation and stability.

Regarding getting depth, it is a balancing act between threshold, sensitivity and whether you are running in the de or sl mode. From my experience, threshold has more impact then sensitivity. Try to run threshold at 0 and with as much sensitivity to be stable in either the de or sl mode. The F70 is a very sensitive detector which has the capability of great depth but it's performance will very from site to site requiring adjustments. Spend some time in the test garden to figure out what sensitivity/threshold set-up works the best.

Thanks Patrick, the rig does seem to have awesome separation as I was clearly able to distinguish targets that were very close together. Was trying the moderate factory presets all day, will crank that thing up tomorrow.

Hey Patrick,

Out of curiosity, what do those CTA tokens ring up as?

Nice dapper dog! Looks like it may have been Al Capone's pooch.

A token, a gorgeous Merc, and a rockin' pipe smokin' bulldog! Great finds, Patrick!!!

That pooch is da man!

Cool hunt!

I think I found one of those CTA tokens last year. . . I remember
my mother using those when we would ride the buses in Evanston
when I was a kid.

GREAT FINDS , PATRICK!!

Brett,
The token rang up on the etrac at about 12 - 32.
