A day full of finds!

Rain has finally stopped and we had a beautiful (but quite hot) day! Hubby was well enough to take a trip out to dig!

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but after researching I’m pretty sure this is a WWI button? Thought it was a coin coming up until I saw the totally intact shank! I believe the back reads “The Art Metal Works, Newark NJ”.

After researching this piece, I think it’s an old pocket watch cover. Back reads “W.G.C.Co” and “14K”. I think we’re going to have it looked at by a jeweler to see if it’s anything special.

Also found a gear to a pocket watch, our first harmonica reed (able to ID after seeing so many posts from y’all!), and something else I’m not sure what it is? But looks like it was once pieced together.

And then other odds and ends goodies! Please feel free to ID! I know the old wrench, plow thing, and an old file. Old mini hammer or tent stake? And of course, I always manage to find the giant stuff! Luckily we were close to the truck and I was able to put up the horse harness thing! Planning to head to the same spot again tomorrow and see what else turns up!

Thanks! We will be heading back out shortly to keep hunting that same area. Fingers crossed we can find the back piece to that pocket watch and hopefully buttons and coins!
