A Few Bit's and Bobs....Update.....



Well at last out last but maybee favourite field was stripped of the potatoes(well nearly) we have been waiting weeks for this field and expectations were high

As we entered the field, it became apparent that the farmer wasn't hanging about, parts had already been sown so time was going to be against us, although we are allowed on after sowing, the best condition is always when the spuds have come out as the soil is very compact from the machines.
It will probably take time for this field to produce the real goodies it is very large and can be very quiet in parts, but we have all Winter on here, and we will be coming back to it a lot.

We managed a few bits and bobs, couple of Hammered, a few Roman, but the real good finds are still there waiting for another day

I'm glad you singled that out it's got me puzzeled I cna see what looks like a beasts head, and was proberbly guilded...but what it is

You probably know a lot more about ancient bronze then I do!
But, if I was to hazard a guess, I'd say maybe it was used in the
clothing or the hair?
I can see the face of an animal or possibly a horse in it.

yes tons...sometimes I think they leave more than they collect, all of them are destined to become Crisps...(potato chips) for one of the leading brands in the UK

Looks like the field is producing well, a Hammered, a good looking Roman.

It's kind of hard detecting the ridges behind the potato machine, but really kind of exciting too.
Too fluffy in the middle, too hard in the tracks. ( sounds like a perfect recipe for finds )

This weekend I can not go hunting in my city that opened the Temple of the Sagrada Familia , which is already finished at 50% and is very important, I have to take pictures and video with my son to remember the rest of his life.
The next that there will be a bag of chips will look good in it .... and if I find a hammered of Yorkshire.

Don't know if those types of potatoes on that field are good for chips he sells them all to a Crisp maker, and he farms a lot

Yes that's what I call the Castle field, it's were the Edward111 Silver Hoard came from, but that area is still to be stripped of the spuds and it's had a deep plough...so who knows what might come out
