Earlier I posted some pics of all the stuff in boxes, but that just highlighted the quantity and not necessarily the quality so I thought I'd show a little more detail now. I'm totally stoked about how the year went not just with colonial silver (24 coins), but with buckles, buttons, all the pit dig finds, and even some of the iron artifacts. I'm having a major problem keeping all the stuff straight while I pull things from different boxes for group shots, but guess that's a nice problem to have. Anyway, I won't ramble on here, but will just leave you with the pics to browse through. Don't forget to click on the thumbnails to get a more zoomed in view. I'm sure some of you have seen a lot of this before (since I posted 80+ starting threads since last fall), but this is a good recap of my season. Now it's time to take a break to write some articles, jump back into some research, and maybe do a little beach hunting. And of course, make up for lost time with my detecting widow who has been a real trooper letting me hunt 'till I dropped this year. HH ..... Bill

That's incredible. I've been doing some research on those three seals without much luck. Have you heard from anyone else yet?

That is NSFW! It's clearly T-net porn! Anyhow, nice going. Amazing finds.

do you find those rosies and other "newer" silver at your colonial sites?

that seated dime with the O mintmark looks like it has some good details!

I have a positive ID on one, a pretty good idea about the 2nd, and making progress on the 3rd. I appreciate you interest and assistance. Have you been able to come up with anything in your research?

That is amazing!

Most of the 1900s silver was found in the yard of the custom house site that dated to 1705, but is still in use. The others are randomly found in fields at colonial sites mixed in with the older stuff. Probably just drops from a farmer or hunter since most of the homes at these sites have been gone since before the Civil War. That seated dime is an 1856-O and is in great shape. That was another customs house find.

YEP....WHAT THEY SAID!

Finds like that come from not only great sites, but dedication to the hobbie. You obviously have both. Congrats on some incredible finds Bill.
