I had grilled the grounds around a cellar hole for a while now, and found almost nothing. A few buttons and a Connecticut copper was the extent of it. Then the home projects began....and finally ended.

But winter is here and things are mostly frozen. So I decided to clear about 3/4 of a ton of timber and bull crap, then detected. About 3’ x3’ gave me this...

My favorite find was the sinker. I collect old sinkers I dig and have some old ones.

Well that’s about it. Things went into deep freeze and I’m lucky if I can get a shovel in before March.

Good hunts!

Well done brother! House looks great....for a crusty old sea captain doing the work lol. As usual you made the most of a hunt. The weather sucks up here. -teen wind chills beginning of the week....now a ton of rain. Can’t win man

I’ve found they’re often home made before the late 19th century. Early ones are flat like the example in the picture. The flat one was made at home in the 18th century. I know this because the site was gone by 1810.

exciting, but now it’s a waiting game. It was my last hunt before the weather turned. The ground is frozen deep now.

Abe I would literally put that site on hold and wait for you if you would visit NJ. But then again, I would absolutely fear what you would find in the Iron Maiden . After many hunts together I’ve learned your skills are absolutely mind blowing in the pits. It’s almost not fair

Congrats on the relics and old coppers! :icon_thumleft:

Nice job on the house projects!

nice hunt and love the ram rod thimble. good job on the house as well

Congratulations on finishing the home project. I built my own house and have done many a fix up or add on to keep my wife happy so I know what you have been dealing with.

Your finds are great compared to most of mine and I am looking forward to seeing what else you will pull out of the ground when it thaws.

Keep swingin.
