Several hunts lately, here are the best from those.
A silver ring next to an old fishing pond.
Because of the moisture this was the most tarnished silver piece I ever found and it fooled me at first but I finally saw the 925 mark and I got happy.
To hard to clean up by hand with all those nooks, crannies and other hard to get to edges so science to the rescue.
I wrapped it up in foil, mixed some baking soda with water in a little pot on the stove and threw it in to the boiling liquid for about 10-15 seconds.
That's all it took, the transformation was remarkable and it came out great.
Before and after pics below.
The stones are marcasite.
Next I was hunting an old park and I was near the edge and took a little trip across the street to hunt a curb strip.
Glad I did, not only did I find this cool little 3" long brass elephant but also a little silver coin spill...my first.
A dime and my third quarter of the year in that hole, never found more than one silver quarter in any year before so I am having a banner year in that regard.
Guess I am going to be getting into the curb strip hunting biz asap.
Seems to be very productive if you find the right one.
