I have been going to this site for a while now, I have had a lot of posts here on a weekly basis. But lately I haven't been finding a lot, I didn't even bother to post last week, I think I found one bullet. I can't complain though, this site has been a awesome. Once they start clearing the trees for the lots, a lot more will start popping out I'm sure and I plan to be there.

20170212_151844.webp 20170212_152627.webp 20170213_170748.webp I decided to try doing some electrolysis. I had found this gun wrench a few weeks back. I guess it was too far gone to use this process because it crumbled on me? :BangHead:

20170212_172243.webp Anyway, these were my finds from this weekend. Accept for one great button which was still soaking when I took this pic.

20170212_153631.webp 20170212_171857.webp When I found it, I just tossed it in by button holder thinking it was just another eagle button. I was cleaning my finds and was completely surprised. A Virginia button. My second. Like many other buttons from this site, it has this green crusty stuff on it. Does anyone have any idea's how to get it off other than trying to soaking in ammonia for a few weeks?

20170213_171228.webp 20170213_170940.webp I really can't complain, so far I have almost filled up 2 display cases, it has been a good ride so far, I have found so many 1st here. :hello2: Thanks and HH.

Congratulations!! What a amazing collection you have from this site!! Still wish I can be as lucky as you . I am glad you used the button case for your Virginia buttons.

sweet collection

Congratulations on another VA Button! :icon_thumright: You're amassing quite an impressive collection!

You are saving some great history! A site like that is rare and I'm glad you have it. You will remember these hunt's for many years. Congratulations!!

And thanks for taking us along[emoji106]

Looks like a great sight, I'd love to come across one of those!! The Virginia button is definitely a sweet find!

If you put it in that too long, you won't have a button left. It can eat it up completely.

Jacob, Congrat' s on some really nice relics here. That Virginia button find was a stellar find for sure. Relic Bob on Utube has some pretty good videos on cleaning CW buttons using ammonia but I believe he only soaks them for about 3 minutes. Check them out and Good Luck. Keep hammering that camp site.
