Hello All. Dug two old homesites from the 1900's or so for these finds.

Got the usual ammo, fittings, and misc hardware along with a few better items...cabinet key, merc, motometer tag, and a great gold gilt monogrammed badge or fob of some kind...not sure what or how old it is??

Thanks for the view and Good Luck our there. C9

Nice recoveries, my friend. I like the fob. Really cool.

That personalized watch fob is very nice. The name, city, and state will make it easier to research. Believe it or not, I have more fun researching finds like that on the internet than I do finding a silver coin.

Looks like end of the year totals post wow thats alot of cool stuff honey hole time Well done. Tommy

Awesome collection of relics, congrats! :occasion14:

Lot of great finds there. Good job!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Real nice variety of finds! Good job. 🙌 Maybe that's not a fob? Luggage tag, perhaps?

Hello Ogre1190. Luggage tag...I had not thought of that but like the sound of it.

Now how old is it?

Thanks for the reply and comments Good Luck out there., C9

You got it.

Even different calibers "spare rounds" can be carried on one to keep them from rattling about , or a tip hitting a primer..

Yep you guys got me...I found a rifle round clip, I knew that's what it was but put no importance on it...it is old or significant in some way?

Thanks for the reply and Good Luck out there. C9

It tells you some one had a military type rifle.

Up to you to sort out why. If a civilian owner was just plinking targets. A military maneuver or training . Or a ceremony for a Veteran. Or just happenstance that the clip ended up where you found it.
Veterans are familiar with the arms they were using in the military. Some preferred them when they returned to civilian life.
Other owners acquired them on the surplus market as they became dated..

Knowing what it is among your finds just confirms it's i.d..
Other finds on the same site can add context if they can be associated with others.

Hello rc. Could be civilian using army surplus stuff. I recall my Dad buying surplus ammo, rifles, bayonets, packs and such from army surplus stores common down here in the 1960's...but as you know...ya never know...I will have to dig more finds there as you suggest.

Gonna try to go back later this week. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck out there. C9

Very cool finds! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: I really like the watch fob.
