Relic Hunting
I haven't posted anything in awhile, sadly, because I haven't done much hunting lately. The grass is getting pretty high in most places I had been hunting and planting season has begun around here as well. I did get to revisit a field last week, though, that at the beginnig of the year produced a few Civil War Relics and some coins as well. Let me tell you, it didn't disapoint. The first thing I dug was a crusty wheat penny, shortly after though I heard a nice smooth sound and out of the ground came the sword pommel cap, fantastic! I also found another 1868 shield nickel, the second one from the same site. Not sure what the large threaded brass object is :icon_scratch:. Other finds include a Waterbery button back, some flat brass, a small caliber bullet, and a flattened piece of lead. I also included a picture just for fun to show the pommel cap with a broken piece of guard I found thirty years ago about three miles from the site I'm hunting now. Thanks for looking!

Nice coin, the fields are the best place to relax and find relics.
