I believe Ros won the jar and contents that gregd573 donated. She came closest to the the correct # of items in the jar along with a bit of a suprise.

I am sooo glad you got that picture posted! I've been trying to get a picture of the li'l guy and failing miserably.

That was wild! Just for the heck of it, I put in a guess, and was totally surprised when someone called out my name on it. I'd guessed 322 (323?) and the official total was 336. Wow - and cool! When I got up there to "claim" the jar, I think it was Evy that handed me a box and said "dump it out."

"What, NOW?" Yup. So I did, fighting the aged zippos that didn't wanna drop out of the jar, until somebody said "There it is!" (about the little box in the middle picture). That box was taped up like nobody's business, but we got it open and I was stunned to see... gold!

It's a 1915 "Quarter Eagle" and in beautiful condition; the ridges on the edge are still ridges, even.

Well, I've since gotten a hard plastic case thing for it, that should give it some serious protection. I'll see if I can get a picture of that since I couldn't get a decent one before.

I'm still floating on air.

Nan

apologies for the really bad picture - I'm working on it, honest
edited b'cuz I have to make it smaller. sigh.

Still not such a hot picture, I think I'll dig out the tripod maybe...
