Hit up the old road that Civil War troops were rumored to have traveled I've previously found a bunch of case shot there. I only had a few hours to hunt but I ended up recovering two Bormann fuzes, four more pieces of case shot, and a small copper coin or button about the size of a half dime. Unfortunately, it's too toasted to make out any details. With the amount of artillery-related items coming from this area, I'm beginning to think this may have been more than just a travel route. Those are a first for me so I was pretty stoked! Thanks for looking!

Nice !! Got to be a cannonball lying around there somewhere, especially where what we call the overshot area, which is where shells that failed to explode landed.

Also, the coin thingy looks very much like a Sutlers token the soldiers carried.

Thanks for the info! Im hoping to find whole one! I know explosions are chaotic but is there a particular pattern or distance I should be searching for? Ie. would shell fragments be closer to all the case shot or to the fuzes? I found the fuses about 75 yards from the concentration of grape shot.

Excellent saves! Where abouts are you located?
