I do not post very often, but I wanted to share this one with all of you.
Finally had a cool day to metal detect. Got started around noon and quit at 4:30.
91 coins in all. 1- dollar coin, 10- quarters, 13- dimes, 5- nickels, and 62- pennies
1- ring and 1- heart locket.

The locket looks to be either sterling or white gold with 27 small stones. Don't know if they are real or not.
Inside the locket are 2 small letters which are "nv". Any help on this will be very much appreciated.

Very nice haul on the clad! Im not sure about the locket either. Can you give us any information on the ring? Is it gold or silver?

91 coins, a ring, and a locket... That's a huge haul!

Always nice to find a Sacagawea too. Keep those pics coming!

Wish every "stroll" in the park was like that....Congratulation's and HH!!

Thanks for all the kind comments. Yes, I wish also that all afternoons could be like this. I remember back in the late 60's when I could go out and hunt a park that was at one time a civil war army depot. It was an everyday thing to hunt for a couple or three hours and find anywhere between 100 and 200 coins. No clad. Barber halves, barber quarters, barber dimes, liberty nickels, buffalo nickels and IH pennies, plus all the other modern coins up until that time. I found a total of 3 silver dollars in this park. My oldest coin, a 1865 2 cent peice.

Detectingfreak, the ring is what I call a junk ring. It was gold plated. Mostly rust right now. Thanks for asking.

When you find 62 pennies you are really doing some digging! Makes me ashamed to think I walk off sometimes when I get a "junk" tone and just don't have the gumption to dig it. I've almost cured myself of that though. GOOD DIGGING!
