Hi all... Thanks to some mild temperatures I was able to do some artifact hunting this weekend. Found some nice pottery sherds, flakes, and a few point fragments from a PA Woodland site. There was also a holed stone which looks like a natural formation (no drilling) but it was mixed in with the artifacts.

I also found an unusual narrow, curved stone. (Pictured with toothpick for scale.) It is smooth/polished all over except for the outward-curving edge which is flaked. Though the stone is busted, there are some unusual scratches visible on it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Great, thanks for the fascinating insight.

A smoothed edge on one side, a jagged cutting/ripping edge on the other. The old irregular scratching & pottery says artifact to me. It could have scraped some hides or been a rework from a larger tool. Not natural though.
