Had an interesting hunt with a mixture of era's. My wife (Charlene) and I went detecting today for about a 4hr hunt. Other than a very playful and aggrevating 9 month old German Shepherd that insisted on playing, aggrevating, molesting, and harrasing us and literally jumped over my wife's head.
It just wanted some attention and even went so far as to grab my Lesche digger out of the ground and took off running with it. We had a good day digging
.
Finds ranged anywhere from a 1700's Colonial Era "Tombac" button (shank intact), large flat button (missing shank), an old horseshoe, an old stirrup, an old hair bret/brooch?, wrench, part of a pipe wrench, a hotwheels car, salt or pepper shaker lid, a heavy and chrome plated #1, 1917D Wheatie, 1934 Wheatie, a key, some pottery shards, and my wife found a button we have not identified yet. Mild weather with sunshine, being able to spend time together, and numerous targets made it a good day.
We also found a little "Boxer" necklace pendant/charm
. We thought it was pretty cool because we have a Boxer and the odds of digging a cool little charm like that was unusual.
