Hunted a site that's produced many great finds over the years. A lot of Rev. war buttons along with colonial coins and relics.
Yesterday I dug the usual things. Broken tombac , a few plain buttons , couple of broken buckle pieces , some lead bits and pieces. (Nothing really worth posting)
But I did score a 1788 Vermont copper. But pretty toasted. Can only make out details when the surface is wet and held under a full moon at midnight.
Best find of the days was an 1803 large cent with some good detail (worthy of posting).
So I return home and look through the odds and ends I dug and pocketed.
Turns out one of the items I dug ,what I thought was just lead , is/was a Continental Army USA. ALMOST !

The pewter button met with oxidation and only about 2/3's of the button is left. So missing the "A"
Does it count ? LOL ! Had it been whole it would be #4 from this site. No problem. It's better then nothing at all.
Thanks for looking.
