I picked these 2 pieces of a 6-1/2" long spoons made in Denmark in 1912 I believe. The silversmith I believe is a Christian F Heise. They're very pretty and were marked at $2.99 each. Together they weigh 43 grams of a .826/1000 grade silver, which would have a value of maybe $35.00 at today's silver price.

You certainly find some nice pieces.

Although many internet sources (including some antique sites that should know better) will lead you to believe that the ‘CFH’ mark is a silversmith/maker mark, it isn’t. Christian F. Heise was a Master Assayer between 1904-1932. Denmark stopped using assayer marks in 1988.

The maker mark is the ‘O. RIIS’ and, although not well-documented, I believe that’s Otto Riis. He’s known as both a designer and maker of elegant Art Nouveau and Art Deco pieces which are highly collectable.

Thank you RC.
